An audio guide for those visiting Birgu was launched on Saturday morning by Cultel, Jcmwebs and Birgu Local Council.
The intention of the audio guide, which can be downloaded from the Birgu website in Maltese, English, German, Italian, French and Spanish is to allow the visitors to navigate around the city like a local.
Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, also present at the launch said that such projects aid in the promotion of Malta in the tourism industry cause with such initiatives and also thanks to technology people from all over the world can listen to Malta's beautiful history thus wetting their appetite to visit.
Mayor John Boxall said "this unique project provides a detailed insight into the way of life of Birgu people. This project combines technology with vision, innovation and dedication.
The launch of the mp3 audio guide which can be hired from the Birgu Local Council or downloaded from www.birgu.gov.mt also coincided with the launch of the online payment system for the mp3 audio guide.
